Match API

Match a company name to domain profiles. Returns ranked candidates with confidence scores. For bulk matching, see Match Bulk. To enrich matched domains with firmographic data, use BizData or Append.

Parameters

Parameter	Description
name	Company name to match (required). Must be non-empty after whitespace and punctuation are stripped
country	ISO-3166-1 alpha-2 country code
state	State or region. Accepts an ISO 3166-2 code (e.g. `CA`, `BY`) or a full name (e.g. `California`, `Bayern`) for any country that has subdivisions. Values that cannot be resolved are ignored
city	City name
zip_code	Zip code
phone	Phone in E.164 or local format
min_match_confidence	Minimum match_confidence (inclusive) a match must have, 50-100 (default 50)
strict	Exact-name matching (boolean, default false). The name is searched as a quoted phrase with no abbreviation expansion, and only candidates whose `name` or an alternate name equals it after normalization are kept. Filter relaxation is limited to clearing `state` then `country`
local_mode	Keep `state` and `country` during filter relaxation (boolean, default false). Other filters are still dropped when a pass returns nothing, and candidates missing the location are excluded instead of treated as unknown

Matches with match_confidence below 50 are never returned; min_match_confidence raises this floor.

Each match includes match_confidence (0-100) indicating how well it matches the query.

Errors

Status	Meaning
204	No company matched the query
503	The search backend could not be reached after retries — retry the request; this is not a no-match
